APIE
Building essential internet engineering skills and knowledge to improve cyberspace for society.

EBA
Evidence based approach collaboration and capacity-building for solving emerging issues.

Inxignia
A micro-credential platform to validate learning achievements, within and beyond SOI Asia.
APIE (Asia Pacific Internet Engineering) Program aims to foster and support people in learning the necessary Internet engineering skills and how to improve cyberspace for society. This program helps young learners in the APAC acquire network engineering and operation skills. This allows them to improve their employability and meet the global demand for Internet engineers in industry and academia, including research and education networks (REN). The program consists of self-paced online learning courses and intense onsite camps with hands-on and community-building opportunities in face-to-face projects and internships.

2300+ learners registered for APIE online courses (including public version), from more than 92 economies. 1000+ students from partner institutions.
7 camps, 140+ participants
60+ internship
1300+ badges issued
The EBA (Evidence Based Approach) was created in 2012 as a consortium of universities in the ASEAN region to foster a new generation capable of solving the emerging issues in Asia. For five years, EBA is a data-focused learning strategy developed previously by SOI Asia. EBA Consortium was a collaboration among SOI Asia community higher education institutions to develop human resources capable of identifying and solving issues based on evidence and analysis. The members jointly designed the EBA course curriculum and offered courses in their own expertise to the students of member universities. The program also offered fieldworks and internships in member countries, to provide a variety of experiences in the study fields, meeting with people and society in Asia.
From 2021, this initiative entered a new phase, becoming the EBA project, and will be expanded for the whole SOI Asia community.
Promote the EBA methodology: Using EBA, develop capacity building programs for solving emerging issues in Asia.
Develop a common learning platform among partner
institutions to support the above program.

Partners: 19 universities in 11 countries in Asia.
94 students joined the program.
8 fieldwork were prepared and conducted, and 1 virtual fieldwork was developed and conducted online during the global COVID pandemic outbreak.
The Inxignia micro-credential platform is a scheme created to support learning mobility and validate learning opportunities within the SOI Asia network. It uses Open Badges to provide online credentials for learning outcomes and skills acquired by learners. It also integrates learning experiences from different contexts into a coherent, continuous pathway, focusing on building a sense of community among learners. With Inxignia, SOI Asia aims to create a cohesive learning journey for students participating in various short-term and online educational programs within the community and beyond.

Provide a platform that allows SOI Asia learners to collect, manage, and share education achievements as open badges throughout their lifetime.
Improves credentialing, brand visibility, and engagement for issuing institutes.
